About AnnotationBase
Built out of frustration. Refined through experience.
AnnotationBase is an independent product built by someone who spent years in agencies watching good feedback get lost in bad threads. This is the tool I always wished existed.
The problem
Agency life taught me how broken website feedback really is.
After years of working on web projects in agency environments, one thing kept coming up: the work was solid, but the feedback process was a mess. Clients sent long emails trying to explain visual changes, designers annotated screenshots, and developers were left guessing what “move it a bit to the left” actually meant.
That back-and-forth slowed projects down and made it hard to keep track of what was done, what was still open, and what was buried in old threads.
Helping web teams spend less time on feedback, more on building
What we believe
Designed around real feedback workflows

Feedback should live where the problem lives
A comment pinned to the exact element on a live page is worth ten email threads trying to describe it. Context isn’t optional.

Simplicity is a decision, not a design trend
If a client needs onboarding to leave a comment, the tool has already failed. AnnotationBase should feel obvious from the first click.

Nothing should get lost
Every piece of feedback deserves a clear owner, a clear status, and a clear resolution. If it’s been raised, it should be tracked until it’s done.

Small teams deserve great tools
The best feedback workflows shouldn’t require an enterprise contract. AnnotationBase is priced and built for the people actually doing the work.

Speed matters more than features
A tool that’s fast, focused, and reliable beats a bloated one with features nobody uses. Every addition to AnnotationBase has to earn its place.

The product should speak for itself
No aggressive sales tactics, no dark patterns, no artificial urgency. If AnnotationBase is right for you, using it will make that clear.
